Our approach
We believe every person has the right to feel resilient and seen in a yoga class or movement session. Our programs warmly welcome students of all body types, range of motion, sexual orientation, gender expression, and clothing selection.
We know that yoga, mindfulness, and movement movement practices can seem intimidating. Mass media and the fitness industry have done a disservice to these modalities by focusing on a very specific aesthetic and ignoring the history and depth of what makes these accessible. Definitions of what all this means have gotten muddy and it's hard to know who to "believe" or follow.
The short answer is you already have the tools inside of you to be to be empowered by one of our sessions! We're not setting you up for an expensive hobby that requires high end leggings, fancy equipment, and meeting a specific look. Rather we see our students as containers of availability for wellness, and our approach is all about giving you the opportunity to unlock and harness that and create something that works for your lifestyle.
How are we qualified to work with people who don't fit the traditional "yoga body"? What can you expect in our classes and workshops? How do we define big terms like "mindfulness"? Browse our FAQ.

What to Expect
In classes with me, expect cues that encourage playfulness, creativity, and for you to be fully yourself as you practice. Expect lots of pose modifications and ways to use props, the wall, and each other as support for postures. Expect an eclectic playlist. Expect to hear others using their voice asking questions or laughing or breathing with exuberance, and a welcoming for you to do the same. Expect micro anatomy lessons in the “why” of postures. Expect to be seen, heard, and part of a community.
